Voices of Healing: Stories from Our Patients
Efitu Gadisa’s Story
Efitu Gadisa is a single mother to her young son, Bersufekad, and is currently expecting another child. We first met Efitu while she was sitting on a street corner with her son, facing an extremely difficult situation with no support and no access to medical care—even during her pregnancy.
Through our mission, Efitu is now receiving the care she urgently needs. We connected her with Kidus Petros Specialized Hospital, where she was able to receive free medical services, including blood work, urine tests, and an ultrasound. This marks the very first time she has received prenatal care. She will return for her results and begin regular monthly checkups moving forward.
In addition to medical support, Efitu and her son received clothing and shoes through the hospital’s social work department. We also assisted with transportation so she could attend her appointments.
This step is life-changing for a mother who had no help and no access to care. We are grateful to be part of Efitu’s journey and pray for her safety and health as she prepares to welcome her baby. We hope she will deliver her child safely in our shelter, surrounded by care and support.
Tiblet’s Story
“Today, I spent the day at Kidus Petros Hospital with Tiblet and her mom one of the families of our Give Mission.
For more than four years, Tiblet has struggled with her eyesight. She hasn’t been able to read from the blackboard at school, and every day she has had to borrow her friends’ exercise books just to copy notes at home.
Today, she finally had the chance to be examined by an eye doctor. The results showed that her vision problem is quite severe but the good news is, it can correct with glasses. So this week, I’ll be getting her the glasses she needs.
Her mother was overwhelmed with emotion and cried tears of joy. For so long, her daughter has suffered, and she couldn’t even afford a diagnosis, let alone treatment. Today, that changed.
Moments like this remind me how powerful our mission is. We are truly making a difference one life at a time. Thank God for the impact we are able to have.
God Bless You”
